Hail in 2006 · bell tower in 2007

First Congressional Church, 3rd Avenue, Anoka

Roofs the Twin Cities already drive past

Victorians with turrets, a farmhouse wing in standing seam, a brick house of worship, an industrial deck in white membrane. One family shop on Ryan Lane put each of them back together.

Queen Anne house with a round turret, dormers and three gables under dark shingle

Turret and gables

A Queen Anne, re-roofed round the tower

Dark shingle carried up the turret cone, across three gables and into every dormer valley.

Gabled white farmhouse with green trim and a standing seam metal roof over the porch wing

Standing seam

Metal over the farmhouse wing

Standing seam panels on the low centre roof between two steep shingled gables.

Three-storey brick religious building with a red tile-profile roof, dormers and a cross on the gable

Church roofing

Red tile profile on a brick house of worship

Dormers, a cross-topped centre gable and the arched entry hood, all closed in under one roof.

Long run of standing seam metal on a low-slope industrial roof with a pipe boot in the foreground

Commercial metal

Low-slope steel at an industrial park

Standing seam run end to end with a sealed pipe boot, built for the snow load it sees every winter.

White single-ply membrane turned up and over a parapet edge with metal coping

TPO single-ply

Membrane taken up and over the parapet

White single-ply turned up the wall and capped with sheet metal coping, the joint where flat roofs leak first.

Cream Victorian with a bay window, ornamental gable trim and a brick-red shingle roof

Victorian re-roof

Brick-red shingle on a gabled Victorian

New shingle laid under the scrolled gable trim and around the second-storey bay.
